Word from General Manager
The St. Catharines JR A Athletics would like to
congratulate Tyler Burton on making the Canadian U19 National Lacrosse Team. Tyler will compete in the U19 World Games in
July 2008 held in Coquitlam BC. We wish Tyler and Team Canada the best as they
pursue Gold.
I
would also like to congratulate Dylan Llord and Adam Luchanchoff for being selected in the 2008 Major Series Lacrosse Draft.
Dylan
– 3rd overall to Kitchener
Adam
– 24th overall to Six Nations
In
this years JR A Midget draft St. Catharines selected Matthew Eckert from Owen Sound. Matt is a very talented righty who put
up impressive numbers last season,we look forward to seeing Matt wearing the Double Blue in the near future.
The
2008 season is just around the corner and with 15 returning players and a strong group of Over Age Midgets from our area mixed
in with some strongly improved JR Bs we look forward to a strong and exciting season.
There
will also be a new look to our coaching staff with the addition of Mike Lines [Offensive Coach] and Corey Quinn [Goalie Coach]
who will be joining Ian Rubel and myself on the bench this year.I would also like to welcome Jamie Ferguson on board as our
Assistant General Manager.
Our
quest to the Minto begins April 7/08 when camp officially opens at Bill Burgoyne Arena
